Description
Chestnuts care home is a well-established Home situated in a pleasant central location in Grimsby. It has easy access to local amenities and local transport. Chestnuts building is Victorian in style with a modern extension providing care for up to 23 residents. Chestnuts has three storeys, serviced by a passenger lift and stairs. There are 21 bedrooms which 2 of them can accommodate couples and enjoy a pleasant view overlooking the front garden. Most of the bedrooms enjoy en-suite facilities.
Facilities & Services
On the ground floor there are 2 lounge areas, a Conservatory and a dining room which are shared by all the residents. The home benefits from pleasant gardens to the front and rear, we have a local park that is in walking distance which our residents like to go to in the nice weather to feed the ducks and look around their garden at the flowers. Grimsby town shopping centre is not far from the care home in which our female residents especially like to go shopping with the staff and stop off somewhere for a coffee and a slice of cake. Residents enjoy a stroll along the sea front weather permitted. We have an activities coordinator at the home who carries out daily activities to meet the residents needs and abilities, daily activities include baking, bingo, arts and crafts, armchair exercise, sing a longs, we have pantomime shows at Christmas which is held by the staff ,alongside these offerings we have regular theme day events, we have reminiscence events once a month which takes our residents back in time and may spark some conversations about memories from the past. We celebrate all of our residents Birthdays with a special Birthday party. We have a chiropodist that visits the home and also the home has an outside optician that comes to the care home and provides eye care.
